Educator Support and Development within Learning and Development at Vancouver Coastal Health provides professional development workshops, courses, resources, networking opportunities and one on one support to educators, and those for whom staff education is a significant component of their role. Workshops and courses are designed to be practical, relevant to current education issues and aligned with strategic priorities at VCH.
Each community of care (CoC) (i.e. LGH, RH, VA, UBCH) has a monthly educator meeting. The meetings are supported by Clinical Education. The meetings focus on education roll-outs, practice changes and there is a great opportunity for learning, sharing and networking.
The regional clinical educators (RCEs) from Clinical Education are available at each CoC to support unit-based educators with regional roll-outs, coaching, feedback, learning plans etc.
